Sepp Blatter Former FIFA president undergoes treatment for skin cancer

Blatter was initially banned from football activities for a period of eight years, but following an appeal, it was reduced to six.

Former president of the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA), has successfully gone through a surgery to treat his skin cancer condition. 

This was revealed by Blatter's spokesperson, Thomas Renggli, who told Swiss newspaper, Schweizer Illustrierte.

"Sepp Blatter left the clinic again on Thursday to return home. He is fine." 
The former FIFA head is currently serving a 6-year ban from all football activities, for his involvement in a bribery scandal.
The office of the Swiss Attorney General, headed by Michael Lauber, initiated a proceeding against him for criminal mismanagement and misappropriation on September 25, 2016.

Sepp Blatter, who is the 8th president of the world football body, lost his position as leader as a result. 
FIFA is now headed by Gianni Infantino, who emerged as the winner at an election conducted in February 2016.
