Three people have died in a shooting outside a swimming pool in Spalding.
A police spokesman said: "We can confirm that there has been a firearms incident on Pinchbeck Road in Spalding in the vicinity of the Castle Swimming Pool, in which three people have been fatally wounded, including the suspected offender.
"There is an ongoing police investigation and at this stage we are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident."

The leader of South Holland District Council has described today’s events as a “tragic family incident”, according to the Lincolnshire Echo.
It is understood that two women died, and one man.
One of the women is understood to be aged 20. The other is age 40.

Reports: Mother and daughter among the dead
A mother and daughter are among the three dead, according to local reports.
Spalding Today is reporting that the mother is aged 40, and the daughter is aged 20, according to an eyewitness. This has not yet been confirmed, however.
The other fatality is male.

Local football club Spalding United FC have tweeted a tribute to those who died today.

Swimmers at the Spalding pool 'heard gunshots'
The sound of a gun being fired was heard by swimmers in the pool, according to eyewitnesses.
It is being claimed that the assistant manager of the Castle Sports Complex swimming pool left to try and help two people who were injured.
However, when paramedics arrived at the scene, all three people were declared dead.
'It is a tragic event'

I feel sorry for the people’s families who are involved and be grateful it’s not yours. Staff at the swimming pool have been interviewed. It is a tragic event.

Locals shops and schools were told to go into lockdown following the incident.
What we know about the scene of the shooting
Spalding is a small market town with a population of around 28,722 in south Lincolnshire, renowned for its annual flower parade and pumpkin festival.
In April of this year, dinner lady Liz Edwards, 49, and her 13-year-old daughter were found dead at their home in the town.
Two 14-year-olds have been charged with their murders.

Of the three people who have died, two are women and one is a man, the BBC reports.
Police officers have confirmed that the shooter is among the dead.
Schools and businesses were on lockdown, but that appears to now be lifted.

Council: 'Schools no longer on lockdown'
Lincolnshire County Council has confirmed that schools are no longer on lockdown.
Police have said that they are not seeking anyone else in the incident.
It is understood that the suspected attacker is dead.
'Gun crime does not exist in this area at all'
District councillor Gary Taylor, who represents Spalding Castle ward, said: “It’s terrible news and local people are very shocked.”
It’s a very quiet place, gun crime does not exist in this area at all. It’s shocking news.
The Spalding Guardian reported that six police cars were at the scene on this morning and that local businesses had been told to keep their doors locked.
'I have a cold shiver running down my spine'
Laura Spring, who works at the Woodlands Hotel on Pinchbeck Road, has spoken to the Lincolnshire Echo.
It is absolutely devastating. I have a cold shiver running down my spine.
Police have advised people to stay away from the area.
Statement from East Midlands Ambulance Service
The East Midlands Ambulance Service have now released a statement...
We received a call at 09:04 this morning reporting gun shots on Pinchbeck Lane, Spalding. Our ambulance crews and Paramedic Officer were sent to the emergency and told to approach with caution. Upon arriving at scene our paramedics treated three patients who had gunshot wounds. Despite the best efforts of everyone at the scene the patients were pronounced dead.
The statement adds: “This is a tragic incident and our thoughts are with the friends and families of those involved.”
Schools in Spalding on lockdown
Authorities have put Spalding schools on lockdown, one local said.
Hairdresser Chloe McConnell works at Shear Shak on Pinchbeck Road, and has spoken to the Lincolnshire Echo.
Apparently the schools are in lockdown. I’ve heard they are not letting the children outside. We have locked our doors. I’m scared, I actually want to cry– we do not know what has happened. It happened near to us but we have not seen anything apart from emergency vehicles going past. Everything appears completely normal outside.
Locals: 'We do not know what to do'
Amanda Pearson, who works at Welland Workspace Limited in Pinchbeck Road, has spoke to the Lincolnshire Echo.
Everybody is naturally concerned and do not know what to do. We’ve heard the swimming pool area is closed off. None of us really know anything other than what we’ve read on twitter and online.
Neighbours have been advised to stay away from the scene.

Castle Swimming Pool is currently closed due to an incident in the local area. The Sports Centre remains open as usual and we will update the website with any developments. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

No shots fired by police
Lincolnshire Police have confirmed that no shots have been fired by their officers this morning.

Officers said there are no indications that this is related to terrorism.

The BBC are now reporting that three have died.
Local businesses have told the Mirror that they’ve heard and seen police and ambulance staff at the scene.
However officers are refusing to comment.

A major police operation is underway outside a sports complex in Spalding after reports of a gun shot.
Police have been seen outside Castle Sports Complex swimming pool after reports of one person injured.
A Lincolnshire Police spokesman said: “We are currently on scene near the swimming pool on Pinchbeck Road, Spalding, after receiving a report at 9am of a person injured.”
